The record for having the highest number of sons in the army during World War I was held by two African Americans…Rev. R.H. Winslow of Rayville, AL, had 12.
Two were twins and three were triplets. He received a congratulatory letter from President Woodrow Wilson. Mr. Sims, who was 87, had 11 sons with three more to be called, a total of14.
