Marvin Webb joined Funders for LGBTQ Issues in May 2010. As Vice President of Finance and Administration, he focuses on finance, accounting, business planning, budgeting, compliance, human resources, talent management, employee engagement, information technology, administration, and infrastructure. As a strategic thought-partner, his work supports agency growth and sustainability, in collaboration with building and managing effective systems using nimble technology stacks in finance, human resources, and information technology. Mr. Webb moved to New York City in 1989 to begin his 17-year career as a professional modern dancer. He has danced the works of various choreographers, including Martha Graham, Doug Varone, Ralph Lemon, Ron Brown, and Liz Lerman. After retiring, he was the Human Resources & Business Manager of a boutique public relations firm in New York City. To deepen his work in human resources, Marvin completed his MBA practicum as an intern in Human Resources at the international human rights organization Witness. A native of Kansas City, Missouri, Mr. Webb received his BA from Creighton University, a Certificate in modern dance from the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance, and his MFA, in modern dance, from New York University/Tisch School of the Arts. After his performing career, Marvin received his MBA in Human Resources and Marketing from Baruch College/Zicklin School of Business. He is currently pursuing his MS in Accountancy at Southern New Hampshire University to sit for the CMA exam. Mr. Webb lives with his husband George and also serves on the board of CenterLink, the community of 200+ LGBT Centers.
