
- Dr Wu is a co-founder of Families for Real Equity in Education (FREE), a grassroots organization led by parent leaders that fights for full integration of NYC public schools.
- She also runs Underground N95, an organization that supplies much needed PPE to healthcare workers in the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic, then to educators in NYC as schools began to reopen.
- She is currently working on a research project with a pediatric colleague on the mental health impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, and developing the tools to help children understand Covid-19 to reduce fears and anxieties.
She received a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology & Biochemistry from Rutgers College (with Phi Beta Kappa), and received a Medical Doctorate from the New Jersey Medical School at Rutgers.
Dr. Wu is a clinical attending physician at NYU Langone Medical Center, and is a board member of the North American Taiwanese Medical Association-Greater New York Chapter.
She is also a member of the Coalition of Asian-American Independent Practice Association, as well as the Chinese American Medical Society.
Cheryl is a single mother.
